Black Riddle Studios is still working on the upcoming Battle Royale game for the Nintendo Switch and the Xbox One. The developers recently released a new video showcasing some of the cross-platform compatibility that Crazy Justice allows between Nintendo Switch and Xbox One players.
The video is only 52 seconds long, and it showcases someone playing on the big screen with the Xbox One, spawning into the arena and taking up arms against another player who is spawned into the area using the Nintendo Switch. The fascinating thing here is that the Switch player is playing in the mobile mode. This means that the game functions the same – at 60fps – whether you’re playing in TV mode on the Switch, or mobile mode on the Switch, or playing on the couch via the Xbox One.
You can see the video of Crazy Justice in the cross-play mode below.
The video showcases some decent looking frame-rates shared between the two devices. However, two players in a single instance isn’t the same thing as 100 players in a single instance. As evident with games like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, games with up to 100 players spread across a large-scale map will absolutely eat up performance.
We’ll be able to truly tell how well a game like Crazy Justice will work on the Nintendo Switch once the player count starts going up and we begin to see 20 or more players on the map.
The full game will feature a building and upgrading system along with destructible environments, just like Epic Games’ Fortnite. You will have 20 different heroes to choose from, along with HD Rumble and motion control support. Additionally there will be four-player co-op with split-screen support in the story mode and two-player split-screen support in the Battle Royale mode.
The game is also set to arrive on the PlayStation 4, but it won’t have cross-platform support.
