Publisher and developer Define Human Studios revealed Islands of Nyne way back on May 10th, 2016, on Kickstarter and one week later on the now-defunct Steam Greenlight. Finding success on both platforms, Define Human Studios gathered up enough resources to polish the PC game for a Q2 2018 release.
If you’ve been keeping up with Islands of Nyne since the beginning, I’m sure the following video and information will be music to your ears. Define Human Studios has updated Islands of Nyne‘s Steam Early Access page to reflect the newly posted trailer and information about the game, which sits right here:

The downside about general or vague dates like Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4 is that it spans from three months over four quarters, meaning that Islands of Nyne, in this case, might release later this month (May) or sometime in June.
Given that we are almost halfway through May means that we should be hearing more about this game sometime soon. In the meantime, if you have no idea what this title has to offer at its core, Islands of Nyne is a battle royale game:
“Drop into massive, alien-built arenas and begin the frantic search for weapons and gear – all while trying to stay one step ahead of the advancing plasma field… or the sights of other contenders. ION offers its players a skill-driven, first-person-only Battle Royale all built into a unique sci-fi universe.”
The release of Islands of Nyne will be quite interesting because it was in development well before Fortnite: Battle Royale and PUBG, and is slowly coming together to catch public attention for the third time — Once on Kickstarter and a second time on Greenlight.
