Natural Disasters Expansion For Cities: Skylines Head To PS4, Xbox One May 15th

Paradox Interactive and Colossal Order announced that one of the largest expansion packs for Cities: Skylines called Natural Disasters, is set to arrive on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 starting May 15th.

The expansion brings a ton of new content to the city management and building game, including adding three all new in-game radio stations that feature brand new music to listen to. The radio stations aren’t just there for auricular pleasantries, there’s also the inclusion of broadcast warnings to give city builders a heads-up on when a natural disaster is headed their way.

So what sort of disasters can you expect to encounter? Well, there are meteor strikes, forest fires, tsunamis, earthquakes, tornadoes, and flooding. You can see how some of these disasters come to fruition with the trailer below.

The natural disasters work similar to the kind of challenges and obstacles that were present in the older Sim City games, where a disaster would strike and force players to have to deal with the consequences and the aftermath of the destruction.

One neat thing about the disasters in Cities: Skylines is that they take advantage of the higher end visual spectrum that Colossal Order brings to the table, so just as you see in the trailer above, some of those disasters look fantastic when rendered in real time. That shot of the Statue of Liberty about to be given a mother nature bukkake is just breathtaking.

Also, the shot of the cargo ship riding that wave as it’s about to crash into the bridge leaves you hooked and wanting to see more.

Well, you’ll be able to see plenty more on the home consoles when the Natural Disasters expansion pack goes live starting May 15th for the PS4 and Xbox One. For more info don’t hesitate to hit up the official website.
