Tencent released a mobile emulator for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The emulator is designed to allow PC gamers to play the mobile Android version of PUBG Corporation’s Battle Royale survival game for free.

The emulator allows you to play PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds‘ mobile version using PC-style controls:

  • ‘W’,’A’,’S’,’D’ moves your character around.
  • ‘Q’ and ‘E’ peek left and right.
  • ‘1’ and ‘2’ changes your main weapons.
  • Space is to jump.
  • ‘C’ is to crouch.
  • ‘Z’ is to lie down prone.
  • Shift allows you to sprint.
  • ‘F’ is to use objects/items.
  • Left mouse button fires your main weapon.
  • Right mouse button is alt-fire or to scope.
  • ‘B’ will change your fire-rate.
  • ‘M’ is to access your map.
  • Tab is for your backpack.
  • The tilde key, ‘~’, allows you to enable the mouse.
  • Esc will bring you to the settings.

An instruction video on how to download and install the emulator was posted up by PC Peasants Gaming.

When you install the emulator and boot it up, you’ll be able to choose the basic graphics settings, but once you get into the game you’ll have more options to mess around with and you can customize the experience to match your visual preferences. You can upscale the visuals from smooth, to balanced, to HD, to Ultra HD. You can also change the visual stylings, and whether or not you want low or high frame-rates. Now you might automatically think high frame-rates is the way to go, but it’s explained that lower frame-rates (around 30fps) will give you locked stability, where-as higher frame-rates may result in dropped frames or skipping, which could hamper the experience.

Keep in mind that everyone playing via the emulator will be grouped together. So don’t expect to get into the game and start acing mobile users while you’re playing on a mouse and keyboard.

There are a variety of options available for emulator users, however. You can choose aim assist to be on, as well as to have tooltips inform you about healing, or if you’re blocked by a wall. Peek and fire can be turned on or off, as well as being able to enable or disable the gyroscope.

You can grab the free PUBG mobile emulator right now from over on the Tencent Gaming page.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is also available for Xbox One, and as a premium purchase for PC gamers through Steam.
