Cybernetic Walrus and Iceberg Interactive announced that Antigraviator, the fastest anti-gravity racing game ever made, is currently available on Steam for PC. The game is also scheduled to launch for the Xbox One and PS4 later this year, but you’ll be able to experience it first, in 4K, on PC.
The game is available for $24.99 over on the Steam store. During the first week of launch there’s a 10% off discount, so you won’t have to pay all $24.99 upfront.
The game is hailed as an homage to Wipeout and F-Zero. It features five different worlds that span 15 different tracks. You’ll be able to play through a single-player campaign mode to unlock new vehicles and parts to upgrade your hovercraft with, and you’ll be able to experience the thrill of having no speed limit.
Yes, you can race at an undetermined top speed, blazing through a collection of futuristic race tracks spread out over exotic locations. You can see some 4K, high-speed, anti-gravity racing below via the six-minute gameplay trailer.
The crazy part about it is that the game really does hold true to not having a speed limit. You just go as fast as you possibly can. There’s also a minimalist HUD so that you don’t have to worry about it getting in the way.
I would definitely say that it’s a heck o f a lot faster than F-Zero GX. The track literally just moves by in a blu… a literal blur at times.
To help compensate for the obvious skill differences that some players will exhibit, there are power-ups that players can acquire to help acquire boosts, while environmental traps will allow you to setup ways to stop your opponents from gaining an advantage over you.
The second track on display is set over a lava pit and features multiple routes, but once again it’s so fast that it’s all a rapid-fire blur of lights, twists, turns and propulsion.
I imagine if you enjoyed games like Redout but wanted something even faster, you’ll likely get it in Antigraviator.
