As expected, Days Gone looked like it wasn’t ready for a 2018 release but instead seemed to be shaping up for an early 2019 release due to some of the comments coming from Bend Studio and job listings popping up in late 2017. With that said, the survival action game will release on February 22nd, 2019, for PS4.
The following information that discloses that Days Gone will launch in the first quarter of 2019 comes from a tweet, a new video trailer, and a post from the PlayStation.blog.
Starting off with the new tweet, it shows Deacon (the protagonist) pulling off a power slide near an exploding car. Moreover, the tweet also details the launch date and the latter two points — the new video, and blog post.

Like the Freakers bound in the world of Days Gone searching for anything to consume, the video trailer makes mention that the world is coming for you, too. In other words, the new video trailer in question is just prepping you for more to come:
As for the PlayStation.blog, we learn from Bend Studio’s Creative Director, John Garvin, about the world of Days Gone, characters, different factions, and more.
According to Garvin, there are mountain lions and infected ravens called Criers. Joining the rapacious beasts of the field is a new enemy human faction: Rest In Peace (or R.I.P.). The gang or cult in question worships the Freakers and hates everything else. However, the cult would rather die to the Freakers then to kill them, so keep that in mind.
As for helpful human beings, William “Boozer” Gray is an ex-member of the Mongrels MC — which Deacon happens to be an ex-member of, too — as seen in the older 2016 trailer. We also learn that Alkai Turner is the arms dealer at the Hotsprings survivor encampment, meaning that Turner is the guy to see to get locked and loaded. Lastly, Ada Tucker is a former prison matron who now runs the Hotsprings camp, which I’m sure she’ll have missions for you to take up.
You can either read the full post over on the PlayStation.blog or wait for Days Gone to launch exclusively for PS4 come February 22nd, 2019.
