Fat Dog Games and WarSaw Games announced that Dream Alone is currently available for the Nintendo Switch and on Steam for PC. The game can be acquired from the Nintendo eShop for $9.99 along with being purchasable from the Steam store.
Dream Alone is described as a macabre 2D puzzle platformer. You’ll attempt to traverse your way through 21 different levels, solving puzzles, outrunning traps, and attempting to survive through gruesome machinations set to kill you at nearly every turn.

Visually Dream Alone could best be described as a mix between Klei Entertainment’s Don’t Starve and Playdead’s Limbo.
There’s a nightmarish element to the game’s visual stylings to help give it that unsettling look. You’ll have the ability to swap between two alternate realities in order to find hidden pathways or solve certain puzzles, not unlike the alternate time modes of Sonic CD or the alternate reality mode in Fox ‘n Forests, or the realm of the dead in The Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver.
Darek Skrzypkowski, CEO, Fat Dog Games, explained the inspiration behind the mechanic, saying in the press release…
“We wanted to capture the atmosphere of classic horror, and the Fleczer’s music instantly transports players into the game,” “Dream Alone is a fairy tale for players to take part in, with mysteries to uncover in the grand tradition of folklore.”
Players will need to take on the role of a small boy whose parents fall victim to a deadly disease. He ends up traversing into the dark whispering woods and beyond in order to find a cure from the sorceress known as Lady Death.
The game was inspired by classic silent films, specifically the black and white German expressionist films from back in the 1920s and 1930s.
You can pick up a copy of the game right now for Nintendo Switch or on Steam for PC. The Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game are due for release during the fourth quarter of 2018.
