It’s no secret anymore, Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja will make another game sequel to the 2017 Nioh release, and that’s Nioh 2. The devs have not announced a launch date just yet, but it will release for PS4.
Back in late 2017, it was unclear if Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja would follow-up on the 2017 game by making a sequel, prequel or spin-off later down the line, but we do now know that the “action role-playing game” will expand.
In addition to the above, we also learned back in late 2017 that Koei Tecmo Games’ Yosuke Hayashi — who took part in the creator Interviews — that gamers and fans alike should “keep an eye out in the future” for something special. Here’s what Hayashi had to say during the talk with Dengeki PlayStation via ryokutya2089.com:
“I want Nioh to become even bigger. Please keep an eye out in the future.”
The new video trailer that coincides with Nioh becoming “bigger” announces the presence of Nioh 2 and shows a warrior battling multiple demons out in some dark field. You can check out the new video below.
Furthermore, it’s unclear what Nioh 2 has to offer gamers since very little information was provided during the trailer, but we do know that a sequel of some sorts is in the works.
We also know that a demon-like mode will be present? I’m not sure if you can build up a meter to unleash the beast to defy death, but if so that’ll be interesting to see.
Lastly, we know that Nioh 2 will be heading to PS4, but will the second iteration come to other platforms like PC and the Xbox family of consoles later down the line? I say this because the 2017 edition later released on PC via Steam for gamers to try, so it’ll be more than interesting to see what Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja has in store for gamers.
