The Installation 01 Team or i01 Team, who happens to be a non-commercial subsidiary of Soon Studios, released a new Installation 01 project update video. The video detailing the PC Halo-inspired fan game covers weapons, customization, maps and more.
Firstly, Installation 01, the upcoming Halo fan project, is created under Microsoft’s Game Content Usage Rules. This means the team behind the game are using assets based on the Halo universe and is not endorsed by or affiliated with Microsoft.
Furthermore, the Installation 01 Team is a non-commercial subsidiary of Soon Studios. The team is also in contact with representatives of 343 Industries and Microsoft so that Installation 01 can meet their guidelines and release without any legal problems.
With that out of the way, the devs behind Installation 01 have released a new update video that you can watch right here. Joining the video is a written post about the forthcoming PC game, as featured below:
“Installation 01 is a free, fan-made Halo game and artistic tribute to the series by passionate fans from around the globe. Our goal is bring a unique classic Halo multiplayer experience to Windows, macOS, and Linux. We hope to combine the best elements from each Halo game into something new.”

As noted above, the assets, stages, weapons and other features set to funnel down the pipeline are all made from scratch. However, the devs are making progress, and we should gain another update video later this month or sometime in July.
Moreover, if this fan project sees the day of light and releases as intended, this should quench the dry throats of gamers who experienced what happened to Halo Online ElDewrito.
The good news is while we wait for official information to come from Microsoft and 343 Industries on Halo 6’s development, you can stay up to date on all things Installation 01 by hitting up the weekly updated installation01.org.
