Blood Bowl: Death Zone, RTS Action-Sports Game Enters Early Access On Steam

Cyanide Studios announced that Blood Bowl: Death Zone has officially entered into Early Access over on Steam. The game is available for $9.99 over on the Steam store.

The game is a real-time strategy sports game. It sees players taking control of five members of a team. At the present there are four teams in the Early Access version of Blood Bowl: Death Zone, but the full version will support up to 15 teams.

They want to add in a full single-player mode and a full multiplayer competitive mode. There’s going to be a player leveling system as well that will enable players to level up their profile and advance through the career mode.

To help give the game a bit of star power, each of the teams will have their own star players. Only four are available in the Early Access version, but they work much in the same way that the heroes work in the Total War: Warhammer games.

You can check out the trailer for the game below.

Just like the turn-based version of Blood Bowl, you’ll still have access to the special abilities, magic spells, and bloody moves to help give you an edge during the bouts. Unlike the other versions of the game where it’s turn-based and you see the moves played out across multiple turns, this time you’ll be playing the game like an RTS game fused with a football game.

You’ll have access to all the races from the Old World of Warhammer, and allows players to pick from Orcs, Dwarfs, High Elves and Humans.

The full version will include five arenas, but only one arena is currently available in the Early Access version. Cyanide Studios notes that they have plans on keeping Blood Bowl: Death Zone in Early Access for at a bare minimum of four months, and at a max of eight months.

You can learn more about the game by visiting the Steam store page.
