Nightdive Studios, the developers working on System Shock Remake, are trying to step up their game when it comes to informing backers, gamers and fans alike on what’s going on regarding the remake. As of July 13th, Nightdive updated its Kickstarter page detailing a September initiative dubbed “Adventure Alpha.”
Last week on July 8th, the devs shared an update on the progress they’ve been making so far. Skip ahead five days later, and the devs have updated the community again, this time hinting at having a possible playable build by September.
You can read over the update post right here:
“We’re busy reaching our September milestone which we’ve dubbed the, “Adventure Alpha” as it will be reminiscent of the original game with the difficulty set to zero. You’ll be able to freely traverse Citadel Station without the presence of enemies, pick up items, listen to audio logs, read emails and complete the game’s objectives from start to finish.”
In other words, the team is busy reaching the September milestone or “Adventure Alpha,” where you will be able to freely roam Citadel Station without any enemies.
In addition to the above, you will be able to pick up items, listen to audio logs, read emails and complete the game’s objectives from start to finish.
Furthermore, the update continues and explains how the team expects to have all the levels blocked out by September:
“We were expecting to have all the levels blocked out by September, but with no other details…however, Jonathan has been able to apply the textures from System Shock to Daniel’s BSP giving us an insightful look into the original game. The textures have been modified to take advantage of PBR rendering and lighting placed to mimic the original.”
