Warhammer 40K Inquisitor – Martyr Delayed For PS4, Xbox One To Aug 23rd Due To Technical Issues

Bigben Interactive and NeoCore Games announced that Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr has been delayed to August 23rd, 2018 next month. The game was originally supposed to release on June 5th for Xbox One and PS4, alongside the release of the game on the Steam store, but things didn’t quite go as planned.

So why exactly was the game delayed? According to the press release it was due to some multiplayer functionality and some technical issues.

The press release states…

“The development of certain multiplayer functionalities needs more time than predicted to ensure that they grant the best gameplay experience on consoles. Furthermore, access restrictions have appeared in countries where networks are subjected to stricter surveillance. Delaying the release of the game will allow these technical problems to be resolved and it guarantees that players all over the world will enjoy an excellent multiplayer experience.”

The game will debut in the U.K., on August 23rd as a digital download for the PS4 and Xbox One. A day later you’ll be able to pick up a physical copy from retail shelves starting August 24th for the Xbox One and PS4.

Unfortunately they don’t have a solid release date for the digital or physical releases set for North and South America for the PS4 and Xbox One.

In a way, this news shouldn’t be too shocking given that during its launch week on PC there were a number of reported issues about the always-on DRM and the various other technical hiccups that prevented the game from working as intended.

If it launched broken on PC there was no way it was not going to launch broken on the home consoles.

Neocore is taking the next two months to iron out the game and attempted to get it working right for its home console debut. The action-RPG is supposed to be a Diablo-style take on the Warhammer 40K mythos, so a lot of people were excited, but launch woes kind of soured the experience for a lot of eager fans.
