The Farm51 Teases World War 3’s M777 Howitzer Call-in

The Farm 51 is likely finishing up touches on the World War 3 demo that will be playable at Gamescom 2018. Ahead of that, though, comes a sneak peek at one of the many call-ins that players can spend points on, which happens to be an artillery strike. World War 3 is currently set to release for PC via Steam this fall.

Small snippets of World War 3 gameplay can be seen in the announcement trailer as well as in off-screen footage teased on Twitter. However, we do know that artillery strikes will be in the game thanks to a newly posted video showing its model waiting to fire off a shell.

To gain access to these call-ins, one must acquire points during a battle by completing objectives and eliminating counterparts. After accumulating designated points, they can be spent on “powerful” stuff like artillery strikes to “turn the tide of struggle.”

The official description for the M777 Howitzer can be looked over right here:

“Let’s have a closer look at some of the bigger death tools in World War 3 arsenal. During the battle through collecting points for completing objectives and eliminating hostile soldiers you can call powerful artillery strikes that, if used properly, can turn the tide of struggle. M777 Howitzer is one of them.”

The good news is that you will finally be able to play or see in-game footage of The Farm 51’s World War 3 at this year’s Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. The event is set to kick-off on August 21st and will end on August 25th.

In addition to the above, Kamil Bilczyński, creative director of World War 3, came forth to announce the game will appear at this year’s August convention.

Here’s what the letter had to say about World War 3’s upcoming appearance at the European games event:

“GAMESCOM – We are pleased to announce that from 21st to 25th of August we will be present on this year’s Gamescom. Therefore we invite all World War 3 fans to Cologne! We have prepared a ton of attractions for you but, most importantly, each and every one of you will be able to meet us and personally play World War 3! Our stall will be located in the Enternainment Zone and there you will be able to fight other players on the streets of Warsaw, Berlin and Moscow. For our business partners, influencers and the media we have prepared a stall in the Business Zone where, far from the noise of the fair, we will host a series of meetings, interviews and presentations of World War 3.”

As of right now, The Farm 51 is working on World War 3′s official gameplay trailer, while we wait for that to ship the game will go through an early access phase and will later have a beta set to go live in July or August. This phase will be open to players for feedback and refinement.
