Fatshark announced that the first major DLC for Warhammer: Vermintide 2, titled Shadow Over Bogenhafen, will launch on August 28th for the Xbox One and PC.
The first major DLC received a teaser trailer but they mention in the press release that actual details on the content won’t arrive until the last week of August.
Martin Wahlund, the CEO of Fatshark, did note in the press release that players will encounter Grandfather Nurgle’s “unpleasant attentions”.
You can check out the teaser trailer below.
It’s one of those no-nothing trailers where you don’t get any info at all. The only thing that’s revealed is that there are fireworks going off over a city. That’s it.
We do know that Nurgle’s beasties will be willing to feast on the heroes of Warhammer when the new content does go live.
Fans over on the Steam page are almost on the verge of becoming ex-fans. A lot of the recent reviews for the game note that Fatshark haven’t been doing such a stellar job of keeping to the roadmap and releasing content for the PC version in a timely manner. Patches have also been releasing in a rather scattershot fashion, leaving gamers questioning when the next major update will arrive?
It’s not hard to fault gamers giving Warhammer: Vermintide 2 a thumbs down after months without any significant updates. That’s not to mention that the last major patch for the game was almost a month ago on July 30th, which was actually just a hotfix for the previous patch.
The only thing that have been keeping some gamers entertained has been the Steam Workshop support from the community.
We’ll see if the new content that drops on August 28th at the end of the month will change around the perception that some gamers have of Fatshark’s first-person co-op title. Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is available right now on Steam for PC and for Xbox One.
