Hitman 2 Trailer Teases Agent 47’s Return To Colombia

IO Interatcive and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment dropped a brand new trailer for Hitman 2. The trailer features a look at one of the new stages that Agent 47 will travel to, the jungle. It’s definitely a callback to Hitman: Codename 47‘s jungle stages.

The trailer is entirely composed of flyby footage, along with a couple of shots of some heavily armed men in blue raincoats. According to the press release Agent 47 is heading back to the jungles of Colombia, and will have various pathways and sandbox-style options to explore as he attempts to complete his contract.

The trailer doesn’t really give anything away as far as contracts and stage gimmicks are concerned, but you can check out the trailer below.

The trailer is very much the definition of a teaser. We don’t see any of the new weapons on display, no new costumes, nor any actual gameplay.

According to IO Interactive, there will be additional details on Hitman 2 where the team will explore more of the location in the coming weeks.

I was kind of hoping the teaser trailer featured the original, exotic theme that Jesper Kyd had made for the jungle stages in Hitman: Codename 47. For those of you who don’t remember the theme, you can check out the video below to get a refresher course on the awesome music that Kyd composed for IO Interactive’s stealth title.

Ah that really brings back some memories.

Now that Warner Bros., is publishing the upcoming Hitman 2 I definitely wonder what sort of publisher shenanigans we can expect, if any?

In the interim we can look forward to more news about the Colombian jungle stage in the coming weeks. Following that you can look for Hitman 2 (which still seems like a miss applying the appellation given the fact that Hitman 2: Silent Assassin still exists and is still highly regarded as one of the best stealth games ever made) to launch on November 13th for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
