Luigi’s Mansion 3 Heading To Nintendo Switch In 2019

Nintendo briefly showcased a brief tease of Luigi’s Mansion 3 during the recent Nintendo Direct. The teaser trailer is only half a minute long, but it gives you an idea of what the isometric gameplay is like for the ghost-hunting game.

For everybody looking for a fun ghost-busting experience that didn’t get it from the 2016 failure that was the female-led Ghostbusters can look to get their kicks from Luigi’s Mansion 3.

You can check out the teaser trailer below, which features Luigi using his vacuum to suck up ghosts, and explore the mansion for specters.

In the trailer we see that you can inconvenience some of the ghosts by shooting them in the face with a plunger before using the vacuum to suck them up. There are also stage puzzles to solve, and hazards to avoid.

Even though Luigi is no neophyte when it comes to hunting ghosts, he’s still a scared little dandy whenever he’s facing off against the incorporeal scoundrels haunting the mansion. I suppose it adds to the game’s charm.

They didn’t detail much else about the title, but it’s interesting that they foreshadowed the announcement with the little cinematic segment in the last Nintendo Direct that featured Luigi getting scared to death (literally), just as they were introducing Richter and a few other noteworthy Castlevania entrants to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster. It definitely seemed odd that they would use the Luigi ghost hunting premise for Super Smash Bros., but it now all makes sense… sort of.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 isn’t due out until 2019. According to the Nintendo Direct the Big ‘N’ will spend some time during another Direct to talk about the upcoming game. However, in the interim Nintendo updated Luigi’s Mansion on the 3DS so that it now supports two-player co-op. So those of you who can’t wait until 2019, can enjoy some co-op play on the 3DS version of the title.
