Mega Man 11 Demo Download Now Available For Nintendo Switch

A single-level demo for the upcoming Mega Man 11 has been made available for the Nintendo Switch via a free download over on the Nintendo eShop. You can grab the demo by navigating to the eShop and checking out the upcoming game lists for titles with demos. You can pre-purchase Mega Man 11 ahead of its October 2nd, 2018 release date, or simply grab the free demo, which is a rather tiny download featuring a single level with a boss fight against Block Man.

The demo will be available later in the day on September 7th for the PS4 and the Xbox One, including the Xbox One X.

The demo features the ability to start the game and play a level or mess around with the options. You can alter the controls or mess around the audio and brightness. There’s also a tutorial that covers the new Dual Gear system, where you can use the left or right bumpers to activate the speed gear or the power gear. With the power gear you can deal extra damage by firing two buster shots at once. The speed gear slows down time and allows you to dodge enemies easier or avoid their incoming fire.

You can check out the demo in action with the hour long video below from Cinemassacre.

Gameplay wise it controls very close to the original games. It almost feels like a standard sprite game, and the physics – as far as the firing and impacts are concerned – are on point. I still feel Mega Man moves just a little floaty, but it’s not so bad that it detracts from the overall skill requirements to progress through the levels at a brisk pace once you learn the mechanics and get good at navigating the stages.

Capcom also unveiled the new boss Bounce Man and his pink-themed Boing-Boing Park level.

You can grab the demo right now for Mega Man 11 on the Nintendo Switch, and later on for the PS4 and Xbox One. The game is due out for home consoles and PC starting October 2nd next month.
