The Witcher’s Netflix Writing Staff Decide To Get Woke For Social Justice On Social Media

Everyone leery about the upcoming live-action Netflix rendition of The Witcher, which is going to be based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s written series, have more reasons to crank up their apprehension after the writing staff decided to broadcast how active they are in Social Justice endeavors via social media posts.

Cringe Anarchy spotted the image of The Witcher writing staff from a tweet made by writer and showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich. You can view the tweet below.

Quite naturally, Hissrich’s Twitter blew up with groans and exasperated sighs from people who are not keen on wading into the geopolitical ramifications of immigration. Others argued against Hissrich’s stance, while a few more quipped about the storm that would be incoming for bringing up such a hot button topic while attaching it to Netflix’s The Witcher series… especially well ahead of the show’s debut, which is scheduled to run for eight episodes in either 2019 or 2020.

Some Netflix subscribers in the Cringe Anarchy thread didn’t hide behind any euphemisms about canceling their subscription.

But typically we’ve seen a lot of trends where Leftist with very out-and-about politics on social media have usually produced less than likable content. In fact, many artists (and I use that term loosely) have a hard time separating the art from their own personal politics, which usually results in media like Mass Effect: Andromeda, Beamdog’s rendition of Baldur’s Gate, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi being produced.

There is now a pertinent saying that pops up every time this pernicious occurrence affects a property, and it goes a little something like…
