Looking for a first-person tactical shooter channeling old-school single-player games like SWAT or Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield? Well, Void Interactive is currently working on a game titled Ready or Not honing all of the above. The devs behind the PC game in question, however, are teasing something related to the game coming “/SOON/.”
One of the few games that I’m looking forward to is Void Interactive’s Ready or Not. The upcoming PC game seeks to hit players hard with enemy AI units, weapons, squad commands, New VFX impact effects that create long-lasting clouds of dust, which doubles over to bullet ricochet sparks and sputters, too.
In addition to the above, guns kick up particles when fired close to objects joined by parallax occlusion mapped bullet holes for relevant materials. These POM mesh impacts are said to add an extra level of “punch” to your weapons and firefights.
But that’s not all, Ready or Not doesn’t hold pretty weapons with hefty effects polished for a shooting gallery filled with practice targets known as dumb AI, no, the game will sport visceral artificial intelligence made to challenge and surprise players:
“For the last year, we’ve been writing Suspect and SWAT AI that will challenge the player and act realistically. Our suspect AI can be surprisingly spontaneous and very lethal. For example, failure to restrain a suspect may result in them getting up when the SWAT are no longer around, and finding something to defend themselves with. Players will have to be strategic and mindful of their surroundings, and use the tools provided to ensure rooms are safe before and during entry.”
Sounds like a game worth checking out? Well, something related to Ready or Not is coming soon as relayed on the official VOID Interactive Twitter account today as seen below:
