Microids dropped the official launch trailer for Gear.Club Unlimited 2 for the Nintendo Switch. The game is currently available for Nintendo’s little hybrid that could for $59.99, offering gamers a hardcore racing alternative to the typical kart-racers currently available on the system.
The sequel to the original Gear.Club Unlimited adds on to what was featured in the first game, including adding three different disciplines of racing, such as asphalt racing, ice racing, and off-road dirt racing.
Each of the racing styles will take players across a large-scale map featuring different environments and settings to race through, spanning 1800 miles worth of track, and 250 different races to complete. You can check out the launch trailer below.
In addition to racing, there’s also the customization aspect of the game, too. There are seven different garage workshops that you can utilize to upgrade, modify, and personalize the different racing machines within the performance shop. I don’t know how in depth it is, but the press release mentions that different materials and characteristics will affect different cars in different ways, and that it will modify the physics of the vehicle just like in a real-life racing experience. That definitely makes the game sound a lot more intense than just another simcade racer like Need For Speed.
There are also a number of modes to partake in, including the solo career mode where the story is themed around saving a family car business from bankruptcy, while the multiplayer modes allow for both split-screen play and online play. The split-screen supports options for up to four-players while the online mode allows you to create a Club, recruit your friends, and battle against other Clubs using the asynchronous multiplayer ghost challenges.
The synchronous multiplayer won’t be available at launch, but it will arrive in a free update a couple of weeks after Gear.Club Unlimited 2 launches. You can grab a digital copy of the game right now from over on the Nintendo eShop.
