Bandai Namco announced that Deku from My Hero Academia is joining the ever-growing, already massive list of playable characters in the upcoming crossover fighting game, Jump Force.
During this year’s Jump Festa Bandai rolled out a bunch of trailer for upcoming games, including Jump Force, and the minute and a half long trailer gave gamers a nice look at the young wannabe-hero in action, including his various attacks based on cities and states.
The trailer starts with Asta but after the halfway point we finally see Deku. He unleashes a number of devastating attacks against his foe. We also see that he takes progressive amounts of damage to his outfit as the fight wears on.
There are some really cool looking effects matching Deku’s specials, and it really captures the heart and intensity that fans of the series are looking for out of the fights.
Of course, there’s still the issue of trying to get over the game’s art-style, but the inclusion of iconic characters like Kenshiro and Goku in the same game? That’s pretty awesome.
The addition of Deku also comes shortly after the story trailer dropped, showcasing the game’s online multiplayer mode, the custom special moves, and how the worlds have all converged.
I would imagine that the main villains would probably make the most sense coming from Dragon Ball since they have a lot of inter-dimensional hopping that takes place. It would also make sense if Yu Gi-Oh played some role in the jump gates since they travel through different dimensions frequently as well.
Some of the visuals are still tough to get over since some of the characters look kind of cool while others come across looking like plastic dolls come to life.
Anyway, you can look for the game to launch on Xbox One, PS4, and PC starting February 15th, 2019.
