Pagan Online Gameplay Trailer Reveals Diablo-Style Hack-And-Slash Gameplay

Wargaming.net and Madhead Games announced that Pagan Online is set to release on PC starting next year. Pre-launch tests will take place that allow gamers to sign-up and participate in gameplay trials ahead of release.

The game is basically an action-RPG on the line of Diablo. You’ll select your character class and hack-and-slash your way through various dungeons, collecting loot, fighting mobs, and taking on bosses.

You can join the trials for the game right now by visiting the official Pagan Online website. You can also check out the gameplay trailer below.

Originally Pagan Online was announced back in the middle of November, and it was advertised as a pre-Christian hack-and-slash game. At the time the registration for the trial testing had just gone live.

Now, Wargaming.net and Mad Head Games have rolled out more details of the game, where the combat takes place in session-based combat instances, where you have to utilize your skills, pay attention to your surroundings and attempt to avoid getting killed while you loot new gear and level-up your character.

Memorizing the dungeons won’t be easy because they’ll be procedurally generated, creating different enemy encounters and different kind of boss fights spread across hand-crafted arenas.

According to Uros Banjesevic, the co-founder and creative director of Mad Head Games, it was about combining the best of both worlds between traditional dungeon looters and MOBA games, mentioning in the press release…

“We took inspiration from MOBAs to create unique characters with specific skills and specialties, and when you put them into this type of combat system you end up with a family of fighters that do different things well in different scenarios.”

Given that Blizzard really screwed the pooch with the announcement of Diablo: Immortal, it’s a pretty good opportunity for Wargaming.net to swoop in and take a piece of the market share.

You can register to partake in the trial right now, but Pagan Online won’t be ready for release until 2019.
