It looks like the creators of Ark: Survival Evolved are talking big and planning to release a 100GB MMO next week. The game in question will be delivered on December 19th titled Atlas, which is billed to be the “ultimate survival MMO” and will come out on PC via Steam.
It should come in as no surprise that another MMO game sporting survival mechanics is hitting the scene. However, the creators of Ark this time aim to have over 40,000 players in Atlas‘ PvP/PvE world. Full on mod support is said to be a thing and server functions can be altered thanks to the ATLAS Dev Kit.
More information on this game can be found below thanks to the official description and a leaked video trailer by YouTuber Jade Plays Games below:
“ATLAS: The ultimate survival MMO of unprecedented scale with 40,000+ simultaneous players in the same world. Join an endless adventure of piracy & sailing, exploration & combat, roleplaying & progression, settlement & civilization-building, in one of the largest game worlds ever! Explore, Build, Conquer!”
I’m not sure if the below information is a placeholder or a sign of bad optimization — given how other info on the game’s Steam page has been changed — but the game calls for one to have 100GB of free space:
Minimum:
- OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit versions)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-2400/AMD FX-8320 or better
- Memory: 4 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 770 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or better
- Storage: 100 GB available space
- Additional Notes: Requires broadband internet connection for multiplayer
No recommended specs have gone up yet, but I expect those stats should be going up soon given that the game will be releasing next week.
I’m not sure how this game will pan out given that it supports full-on PvP, mod support, and server options but time will tell what the Ark devs will bring to PC next week when December 19th rolls around.
In the meantime, while we wait for the “ultimate survival MMO” game to debut, you can either hit up playatlas.com or steampowered.com for more info.
