If you’re like me or others out there wondering what happened to Code Vein after Bandai Namco announced the hack-and-slash RPG would be delayed to 2019, do know that you’re in luck. The game in question slated to release in September of 2018 is now set to release later this year (2019).
Firstly, Code Vein is finished or done according to Dmitryi, Bandai Namco’s community specialist, back on May 17th, 2018. However, the overall game back then needed polishing and refinement. This can be heard during an interview that YouTuber Kofi posted.
I bet you are wondering if the game was pretty much complete why delay it an entire year? Well, there’s an actual answer to that question thanks to Rainel Tan, General Manager at Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia, who noted on July 11th, 2018, the following:
“We are thankful to Code Vein fans for giving us a huge positive feedback on the development versions of the game for the past months, as a result of the overwhelming support from the fans, we decided to postpone the release of Code Vein to further refine the game and hope to exceed fans’ expectation. It is a difficult decision, but we hope that once the fans get to play the final version, they will agree with us that this decision is a right one!”
Obviously, the letter is relating to the demo tests that went live mid-2018 to enhance combat, the character creator, movement, stages and other things assessed by those who had the chance to go hands-on with the game. According to the devs, expect everything you know about Code Vein to be enhanced past your “expectations.”
However, to exceed the expectation of gamers, the team had to delay Code Vein from late 2018 to sometime in 2019.
The good news is that we have a window as to when Code Vein will release, which is set later in 2019 as recently posted on Bandai Namco’s official Twitter account — displaying the action-adventure RPG’s latest artwork by artist Kurumi Kobayashi.
Welcome back! The age of Revenants is upon us…we're working diligently to bring CODE VEIN to you later this year, so get ready to rise up and fight! #CODEVEIN

Yes, the development team not only wished gamers a happy new year but they also noted how they are working “diligently” on Code Vein, linking up with Tan’s July 11, 2018, announcement.
Something worth noting about the “later this year” phrasing is that it outlines when we can expect the game at this very point. Sure, we don’t have a specific date, but we can guesstimate that Code Vein is slated for a Q3 or Q4 2019 launch.
Lastly, what is a fact is that the game will debut across PC, PS4, and Xbox One as listed on bandainamcoent.com.
