FoxNext Games Announces Alien: Blackout For iOS And Android Devices

Well, it looks like folks will be getting two Alien games. One from duo team D3 Go!, and Rival Games in the form of mobile game Alien: Blackout, and another Alien game for PC and console made by Cold Iron Studios. However, both projects are under the publisher FoxNext Games.

Yes, there are two Alien games in the works. Need proof? Well, look no further.

FoxNext Games, D3 Go!, and Rival Games’ mobile game is Alien: Blackout

Firstly, according to Alien: Blackout’s Twitter account and official website we can see that Cold Iron Studios is not working on Alien: Blackout, but is instead helmed by D3 Go!, and Rival Games while publishing is handled by FoxNext Games.

The heavily down-voted trailer that had to be re-uploaded with down-votes coming in front-loaded yet again can be seen below:

The latter source reveals the following:

“The terror of Alien is brought to life in Alien: Blackout. Try to stay alive while trapped aboard a crippled Weyland-Yutani space station carrying a deadly Xenomorph as it tirelessly hunts you and the crew. Outsmart the perfect hunter by making perilous choices. Players must rely on the damaged controls of the space station or risk sacrificing crew members to avoid deadly contact, permanently altering the outcome of the game.

Survive seven fear-inducing levels by remotely guiding Amanda Ripley’s crew through increasingly challenging tasks using only the station’s emergency systems. The uncertainty and unpredictability of both the alien and her crew can impose total defeat for Amanda and the entire station.

Alien: Blackout is a unique fear-inducing horror mobile game experience that will test the inner nerves of both Alien and horror fans alike, where life can end in an instant.”

According to the official key features on the given website, the game will follow Amanda Ripley, Ellen Ripley’s daughter, between the films Alien and Aliens. The player controlling Amanda must remain hidden and protect surrounding crew members from the Xenomorph across seven levels:

  • Survive or Die: Using only the space station’s limited power supply to operate a holographic map, surveillance cameras, and motion tracker, attempt to remain hidden and protect your crew from the perfect hunter in seven fear-inducing levels.
  • A New Chapter in the Alien Franchise: A new chapter in the Alien franchise following the saga of Amanda Ripley, Ellen Ripley’s daughter, between the films Alien and Aliens.
  • First Class Alien Mobile Experience: An immersive and captivating Alien experience, perfectly designed for mobile gaming, bringing the Alien story to life.
  • Encounter Fear Again and Again: Every decision can lead to a different conclusion. Players can test different strategies and theories to outlast the Xenomorph in pursuit of victory!

Again, you can learn more about this game coming to mobile (iOS and Android) devices by heading on over to d3go.com and Twitter. However, if you dare to, you can pre-order the game before it becomes available on January 24th, 2019, by hitting up itunes.apple.com or play.google.com.

Yes, Cold Iron Studios is still working on an Alien’s game for PC and Console, but it’s still in development

While the T rated title that is Alien: Blackout may be a mobile game, it looks like the heavily questionable company that’s very left-leaning, Cold Iron Studios, is tackling a PC and console Alien game.

Want proof? Over on the careers page of Cold Iron Studios website we can see the following message on the Console Gameplay Engineer’s page:

“Cold Iron is seeking an experienced Console Gameplay Engineer to join our world class team working on a new PC and console shooter based on the Alien franchise! Are you a passionate game developer? Is making an awesome game the thing that gets you out of bed in the morning?”

For now it looks like Alien: Blackout will be made available for mobile devices first at the end of the month.
