Are you looking to try out Resident Evil 2 Remake for free? If you answered yes, a playable demo dubbed “1-Shot” is currently live across PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The demo that went live on January 11th will be unaccessible come January 31st, 2019. The official game or remake is slated to launch on PC and home consoles on January 25th, 2019.
Although it may sound rosy that you can play the “1-Shot” weeks ahead of the actual game itself for free which is due later this month, do know that the demo has a catch. If you recall correctly, some demos have trials or limits to them, and this “1-Shot” demo is no different.
Yes, you will only be able to play the demo for 30 minutes. However, if you reach the end you can replay the demo again and again as long as you have time left over, but if you do not reach the end, and time runs out access to the demo will not be available.
Official information explaining this limit of time can be found over on residentevil2.com, which explains the following:
“The demo can be played for 30 minutes. You can continue as many times as you want within this 30-minute limit. If you complete the demo within 30 minutes, you can play again until you have used up the remaining time.
Once you have played the demo for 30 minutes, you can’t play it again.
The demo will be available for download until January 31, 2019.”
Something worth noting is that even if you delete the client/application, you will not regain the 30-minute timer upon re-download, it will still remain expired if you used up all of your time or stay depleted upon replaying.
Anyway, instead of reading my explanation of the demo you can instead watch a portion of the “specially tweaked version of the game’s opening section” right here:
As noted above, the official launch of Resident Evil 2 Remake will debut across PC, PS4, and Xbox One on January 25th, 2019.
