Songbird Symphony, Musical Platformer Arrives July 25th On PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC

PQube announced that Songbird Symphony, the quirky musical-platformer from Singaporean development outfit, Joysteak Studios, is scheduled to release on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and on Steam for PC starting July 25th.

The upcoming game mixes together whimsical adventuring with rhythm-based musical boss battles. A new gameplay trailer was made available for the upcoming title, giving gamers small glimpses of both cinematics and the actual gameplay mechanics, which you can check out below.

The game fuses classic platforming, with brightly colored puzzle segments, where players will have to move objects, push boulders, pull blocks, and align rocks in order to complete various challenges and proceed through the dangerously happy forest.

The boss fights are these over-the-top, fast-paced, rhythm-based encounters that are quite unlike any other 2D platformer on the market.

The hook for the game is that everything within the forest is based on the background music’s beat. So all of the interactive elements, mini-puzzles, and entity queues are based on the rhythm of the music.

The story of the game is about the songbird named Birb who is an orphaned bird that attempts to find out his heritage after encountering a lot of mocking ridicule from the other birds in the forest looking quite different from the rest of the forest creatures.

Players will attempt to help Birb navigate through the levels, defeat the bosses, and eventually uncover the true history behind Birb’s family and how he became an orphan separated from the rest of his species.

According to the press release Songbird Symphony is a musical reinterpretation of the classic Ugly Duckling tale.

You can actually check out a playable demo of the game from over on the itch.io page.

Alternatively, if you have a PS4 or Nintendo Switch, you can look for the game to launch digitally on July 25th later this year.
