Dawn Of Man, Prehistoric Strategy Survival Game Launches On Steam

Madruga Works’ Dawn of Man, the prehistoric strategic survival game set during 12,000 B.C., has finally arrived on the Steam store for $24.99. During the first week of release the strategy-survival game is available for 15% off the normal price, so you can grab yourself a digital copy for only $21.24.

The game sees players attempting to take a small group of humans, help them research new ways to build shelter and gather food, as well as build structures to maintain a healthy supply of fruit, berries, water, wood, stone, ore, and flint.

You can get a glimpse of what the game’s general theme is like with the trailer below.

The game also sports seasonal changes, as you’ll need to hunt, harvest, and stockpile during the warmer seasons and then build proper shelter so that when winter comes around you’ll have enough put away to survive through the harsh winter season.

To help your settlers survive both against the unforgiving realities of nature, animals, and other tribes, you’ll need to research and expand your settlements with structures, fortifications, and primitive weapons both for hunting and war.

There’s a more thorough video that covers the game’s more dynamic mechanics, such as stat balancing, population management, and topographical terraforming. You can check out the video below from Yippee Ki Yay Mr Falcon.

The game has already garnered a rather strong sales start on Steam, and as reported by Blue’s News the game managed to top the Steam sales charts for the previous week.

  1. Dawn of Man
  2. PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS
  3. Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI: Gathering Storm

So long as Madruga Works doesn’t do anything stupid, they’ll likely continue to rack in the money and keep on growing as an AA-sized company. What they do from there on is up to them.
