Siege Of Centauri Enters Early Access On Steam April 16th For $9.99

For a short while tower defense games were all the rage, and then the market was over-saturated with them and they faded a while just about as quickly as they came into the picture. Well, Stardock Entertainment is taking a slightly different approach to the tower defense sub-genre by putting a larger scale spin on the concept with Siege of Centauri.

Set within the Ashes of the Singularity universe, Siege of Centauri sees players taking control of an interstellar space force of high-powered armament and unparalleled firepower in order to repel a hostile force attacking a settlement colony of Proxima Centauri.

Many of the units and tech featured in Ashes of the Singularity make an appearance in Sieg of Centauri. However, instead of trying to establish dominance in a race to gather resources and overthrow your opponent, you’re desperately trying to fend off massive waves of vicious, mindless aliens trying to destroy your settlements and key resources. You can see what the gameplay is like with the trailer below.

The trailer outlines some of the scenarios you’ll be faced with, including some of the enemy patterns, some of the enemy waves, and some of the terrain that you’ll have to work around.

You’ll need to defend the Proxima Centauri sector using your wits and your tactical prowess to make your way through the campaign mode, which will be available during the Early Access period.

According to the Steam page, the game will stay in Early Access throughout the second quarter of 2019 as they have plans on getting the game completed before the summer is out. Some of the new features that they have plans on adding includes leaderboards, survival mode, new enemy types, new terrain, new cinematics, and modding tools.

There was a special founder’s program made available for Siege of Centauri at first, where those who put some coin down for the title early had a chance to play-test the game ahead of its Early Access run, but soon everyone will be able to get their hands on it when it launches into Early Access on April 16th for $9.99.
