Epic Games claimed another exclusive for the Epic Games Store, this time it’s a remastered edition of Saber Interactive and Mad Dog’s third-person shooter, Ghostbusters: The Video Game. The remastered edition of the 2009 game that came out for the Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, and on Steam for PC, will include updated visuals and audio for the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and on the Epic Games Store for PC.
As reported by WCCF Tech, the game will be an Epic Games Store exclusive on PC. The page is already live over on the Epic Games Store, detailing the game content, replete with screenshots and splash art.
The announcement for the remastered edition of the action-comedy was accompanied by a trailer featuring the improved version of the last-gen shooter.
The news about the game being an Epic Games Store exclusive should come as no surprise to anyone who has been following certain developers and rights holders.
For instance, Saber Interactive has managed to snag licenses from Paramount Pictures, as evident with their previous release of World War Z, which was also an Epic Games Store exclusive. Once again Paramount Pictures and Saber Interactive are locked into yet another store exclusive with Epic Games for Ghostbusters: The Video Game – Remastered Edition.
If you’re not keen on throwing your lot into the coffers of Epic, you can still pick up a copy of the original Ghostbusters: The Video Game for the Xbox 360 or PS3. Unfortunately, the game has been delisted from the Steam store page. It probably won’t reappear until the exclusivity deal with Epic runs out.
If you attempt to access the store page from the SteamDB entry, it just redirects you back to Steam.
The good part is that if you already purchased the game then you’re still able to download and play the game. However, if you did not purchase the game before the announcement of the remastered edition, your only way of getting your hands on the PC version is either through the Epic Games Store… or through taming the digital seas with the blessings of Blackbeard’s ghost.
