Anyone who played the original Mortal Kombat from back in 1992 and followed the controversy that unfolded across mainstream media and national politics that eventually led to the creation of the ESRB, knows that Mortal Kombat 11 was always an anti-authoritarian statement in gaming.
It was part of the counter-culture wave that encapsulated the 1990s where extreme sports, pro wrestling, and electronic entertainment were pushing boundaries to make people both as excited and uncomfortable as possible. Back then Ed Boon, John Tobias, and the rest of Midway Games were leading a charge that had soccer moms in a perpetual state of being perturbed. Fast forward to 2019 and now Mortal Kombat is a series trying to appease the politically correct ninnies and soccer moms with a gore fetish.
While we’ve been ragging on NetherRealm Studios and Ed Boon for converging to the Social Justice Warrior religion since they revealed the convent-worthy Skarlet back in January, it’s taken others a little longer to figure out that Mortal Kombat 11 isn’t representative of the anti-authoritarian culture it helped cultivate back in the 1990s. Nevertheless, now that people are waking up to the reality of Mortal Kombat’s status, they’re rightly seeing it for the politically correct-ally that it’s attempting to portray in a poorly thought-out manner.
The Dick Show is one of those people just outside the realm of the core gaming community who have realized that Mortal Kombat is no longer Mortal Kombat but is now Mortal Kuckbat. They recently published a 10-minute video on May 1st, 2019 highlighting how the game went from appealing to the 13-year-old teenage boys who made it a multi-million selling brand into a soccer-mom-approved gore-fest.
Dick Masterson is a total anti-SJW and was quick to call out the Caliphate-compliant clothing attire for the female characters, especially Skarlet – who looks like she’s decked out in a burqa, ready to blow up a marketplace in Sri Lanka.
Masterson also rails on former MMA fighter Ronda Rousey and her awful voice-acting for Sonya Blade and then proceeds to rail on Ed Boon for basically handing over his balls to the anti-fun archdiocese of the Intersectional Inquisition.
However, it’s near the end of the rant were the undeniable truth about Mortal Kombat as a brand is laid bare. Dick rightly surmises…
“Those same moms – those same moms that Mortal Kombat told to go themselves in the [1990s]… have now won. Those moms all went wherever old moms go – I don’t know. They went to the glue factory, or whatever. And the 13-year-olds grew up and turned into even worse moms. Even bitchier and more complainy moms… and they won! They finally got what they wanted, which is a game that’s so disgusting and gory, and incredible, but it’s ashamed of me. They finally got it.”
He’s 100% right.
The entire promotional media campaign for Mortal Kombat 11 was basically: if you’re a straight male with a properly working sex drive, this game isn’t for you.
But they took it further yet. They didn’t even want women to enjoy playing as sexy, beautiful, empowered females.
They decommissioned the sexy and then told all the girl gamers who enjoyed playing as hot chicks “Nope. GTFO!”.
Low-T beta males have also been going after women, denigrating and chastising them for wanting to play sexy females in Mortal Kombat 11.
You can’t even request for the sexy outfits from all the past Mortal Kombat games before Mortal Kombat X. I’m serious. If you put in the request sexy outfits on the Steam forums you could be moderated.
They don’t want you playing as sexy women, they don’t want you looking at sexy women, they don’t even want you requesting sexy women.
To make matters even worse is that they have this awful mobile-influenced Krypt-grind that has turned the game into a second full-time job so that you have to wander around in a decrepit loot box pretending to be a cave in order to unlock stuff, making the task of unlocking content feel more like a chore than a fun-time experience.
But it’s good to know that the content cuckolding of Mortal Kombat 11 has managed to escape the tiny sphere of hardcore gamers and finally start bleeding over into the realm of the normies. And anyone who isn’t blinded by the silliness of the Social Justice Warrior blinders is aptly pricked by the obvious turnabout from NetherRealm to comment on the 180-degree turn that the series has taken regarding the portrayal of females.
Hopefully, more people start to wake up to this ridiculousness and stop encouraging what some have called “benevolent sexism”.
