One day into the Kickstarter campaign for the physical release of Aokana: Four Rhythms Across The Blue and NekoNyan has already amassed more than $25,000 as of the writing of this article.
If you visit the official Kickstarter page you’ll see that even with 41 days to go they’ve already doubled what NekoNyan was asking for.
They announced the project back on June 15th, 2019 over on the NekoNyan blog where they rolled out updates on their upcoming projects, as well as how they would be changing their announcement plans for future games in development. Nevertheless, they also announced that they would be making the Kickstarter to create a limited number of physical copies of Aokana. The digital version of the game will be available in late August just a month after the Kickstarter wraps up in July.
According to the Kickstarter page they have plans on getting the physical version of Aokana up and out by December, 2019. You can check out the pitch video below to get an idea of what it’s like.
The English physical version of the visual novel Aokana will include a physical collector’s box along with a digital Steam activation key, a visual fan book, a poster, a clear file folder, and desktop backgrounds.
If you pledge in the upper tiers you’ll receive the physical deluxe OST, acrylic figures, a dakimakura, tapestry, and even a 3D crystal stand for those willing to impart with a couple week’s worth of a paycheck to see the project come to life.
The visual novel is an airy story about a world where anti-gravity shoes allow people to take to the skies, which eventually spawns an aerial sport. Masaya Hinata becomes a star in the sport until he suffers a defeat and gives up.
One day he meets a young girl who needs training to become one of the best competitors in the sport, which leads Hasaya to take up coaching the team of girls as they attempt to become the best team in Japan.
