The game that’s not well-received by gamers — according to its reveal trailer due to it being an Epic Games Store one year exclusive — is publisher Tripwire Interactive and developer Torn Banner Studios’ Chivalry 2. Announced at E3 2019 during the PC Gaming Show, the first-person melee game is set to hit PC sometime in 2020.

Yes, you have read that correctly. Torn Banner Studios have announced multiplayer first-person slasher Chivalry 2 for PC, and it will launch in 2020 via the Epic Games Store.

If you want to know more about this game, Torn Banner Studios’ president Steve Piggott slightly elaborates on the premise of Chivalry 2:

“With Chivalry 2 we want to bring to life the grit and powerful emotions of a cinematic medieval battlefield. Learn to master the blade as you lay siege to castles, set fire to villages and slaughter filthy peasants.”

In addition to the above, Chivalry 2, the game powered by Unreal Engine 4, sees 64-players on the same map. According to the devs, the sequel will sport “larger medieval battlefields than ever before” as well as a revamped and more accessible and fluid combat system, along with new gameplay additions such as mounted combat.

I’m not sure how well this game will perform moving forward, but given that it’s an Epic Games Store exclusive it could face a slow start, but we’ll see. As of now, most people are saying that they are sticking to Mordhau given the exclusivity deal for Chivalry 2.
