Phantasy Star Online 2 Is Coming To Nintendo Switch, PS4 In The West

During this year’s E3, Microsoft revealed during the Xbox conference that Sega’s Phantasy Star Online 2 would be coming to the West on PC and Xbox One. The game has been a highly sought after MMO by weebs, anime fans, and otaku in the West. However, Sega has denied them the prestige of experiencing a localized version of the game for the West…until now. Not only that, but Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, also confirmed that the game won’t be an Xbox console exclusive, so both PS4 and Nintendo Switch owners will be able to get in on the action when it does release.

The news comes courtesy of Jack of All Controllers, who published a piece on June 13th, 2019 pointing to an interview that Phil Spencer had with GiantBomb, where he revealed that Phantasy Star Online 2 is not a console exclusive on Xbox.

It comes at the 40:40 mark at the Live From E3 2019: Nite 2 live-stream over on Giant Bomb. You can view the segment below.

As noted by Jack of All Controllers, the information was also corroborated by IGN’s wiki (although, I doubt that we’d need IGN to corroborate something the head of Xbox said, but just for those of you in doubt).

This is pretty big news for gamers who were excited that Phantasy Star Online 2 was coming to the West, but also bummed that it was only announced for the Xbox One and PC. If you have a potato PC you were probably bawling in a corner your eyes out like James Charles when he got exposed by Tati.

Anyway, there’s no release date on when Phantasy Star Online 2 will arrive in the West, but at least now we know it’s coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and the little Switch that could.

(Thanks for the news tip Red)
