Brazilian developer Jonathas Lima and musician Vinicius de Oliveira finally released the first full trailer for the pixelated hack-and-slash, role-playing adventure game, Prisma Light.

The upcoming indie title is scheduled to enter into a Kickstarter campaign, but to help build up some hype ahead of the crowdfunding drive, the developer(s) at GraphPix decided to unleash the trailer at spending several months working on the project. You can check it out below.

The game looks super similar to Heart Machine’s Hyper Light Drifter, but with a dash of The Legend of Zelda and Secret of Evermore. That’s definitely not a bad combination, and the gameplay appears to combine elements from all three.

During the short gameplay video we see that there are some platforming segments, tons of exploration, some real-time hack-and-slash combat, and even some boss fights.

It appears as if there’s a mix of a lot of different elements tossed into the mixing bowl of content to cook up something special with Prisma Light.

It may be a pixelated game but I love the design of some of the environments, which seem to mimic more modern architecture, not unlike Mother 3, but it still retains those fantastical elements with the magic, swords, lasers, and monsters.

The combat appears to be basic hack-and-slash with a mixture of some projectiles to ward off enemies who keep their distance. There’s also a companion who seems to follow the protagonist around throughout the journey, so it will be interesting to see what role it plays further into the adventure.

Hopefully there’s a solid story behind all of the macedoine imagery that seems to transcend space and time. But I’m quite sure we’ll get some solid story elements in tow with the Kickstarter campaign once it goes live.
