Siege Of Centauri Beta 2 Update Adds New Towers, Missions, And Weapon Customization

The tower defense strategy game Siege of Centauri is based on the world of Ashes of the Singularity and allows players to setup towers to fend off the colonies from waves of invading alien enemies. Stardock Entertainment update the game with a new beta that adds new missions, weapons, and towers to make use of in any of the maps.

So in the previous build the towers per map were preset. It was almost like Dungeon Defenders where you were limited in what kind of towers you could put down in a given map. Only this time it limited you based on the kind of towers you could use. Well, they decided to axe that design and allow players to place down whatever towers they feel is necessary.

Over on the Steam community post Derek Paxton, the lead designer, explained how the new system works, saying…

“Players have access to a wide array of towers, each with unique capabilities, to choose from. Beta 2 allows players to pick the towers they want to use, rather than the game deciding for them.”

There’s also an accompanying video of the latest build of the game that you can check out below.

As mentioned in the video, the new tower selection loadout allows players to select up to 12 different towers for the map. You’ll also have access to new abilities you can learn as well.

To help get new players into the world and kicking alien butt in the most efficient ways possible, there are some brand new missions added to the game that will help you to learn the ropes and scale your skill to the increasingly difficult missions. The difficulty also scales up to veteran players, giving them harder challenges to complete that weren’t present before.

You can download the latest beta iteration of Siege of Centuari right now if you have the auto-updates on for the game. Alternatively you can pick up a digital copy of the game while it’s currently in Early Access over on the Steam store.
