Cuphead Netflix Show Is In The Works, Will Be An Animated Comedy Series

This time if Dean Takahashi wants to review the TV adaptation of Cuphead he doesn’t have to worry about getting stuck on the tutorial, or worse yet, sharing the footage for the public to see. All jokes aside (except for Netflix) the 2017 hand-animated platformer will hit the streaming tube (via the seventh-largest Internet company by revenue) in the foreseeable future.

With the first expansion underway and cooking further to be tasty sometime in 2020, which is best known as “The Delicious Last Course,” Studio MDHR is looking to offer more Cuphead and Mugman either this year or the same year as the forthcoming DLC in 2020.

In addition to the above, the controversial Netflix media-service along with King Features Syndicate are partnering with Studio MDHR to produce an original series for the 2017 hit game.

According to website hollywoodreporter.com, the game inspired by the classic Fleischer cartoons of the 1930s has sold over 4 million copies, which means there’s a lot of people interested in this little piece of work.

The website also explains that the new animated comedy will expand upon the characters and world of the game while featuring Cuphead, Mugman, the devil, and others. However, and at this point, it’s unclear how much current year politics will be in it, but time will tell.

As for behind the scenes stuff and people working on the show, C.J. Kettler (Carmen Sandiego) will be the executive producer for all things King Features related while Chad and Jared Moldenhauer will serve as executive producers for all things related to Studio MDHR.

The website also makes mention of the series being produced by Netflix Animation. Dave Wasson (Mickey Mouse Shorts) will be the executive producer, while Cosmo Segurson (Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling) will serve as the co-executive producer.

Given the abominable and grotesque alterations that Netflix has made to The Witcher show, don’t be shocked if something along those lines appears in the Cuphead show.

Lastly, no release date has appeared, which means late 2019 or 2020 we’ll likely hear more about the Cuphead TV show adaptation.
