Epic Games Store Reveals New Games Bought As Timed Exclusives

Epic Games is looking to sweep up any and everything they can get their hands on, which means Tim Sweeney and crew are working hard to poach any game potentially coming or that’s on Steam. As it stands now, the recent scummy one-year-timed-exclusive games consist of indie and major titles.

Over on epicgames.com, we learn that the site in question gained an update during Gamescom 2019: Opening Night Live to show off the latest games that Timmy boy and crew bought for a year to stay exclusive on the Epic Games Store.

It’s worth noting that Russ Bullock and Piranha Games’ MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is an Epic Games Store timed exclusive, something that we reported on not too long ago. However, the latest games to join such a move consists of the following:

  • Magic: The Gathering Arena
  • Oddworld: Soulstorm
  • Atomicrops
  • The Cycle
  • Journey to the Savage Planet
  • KINE

And yes, some of the above games are on Steam and will not release on that storefront until a year after they are on the infamous Epic Games Store. With that said, below lies the full list of newly bought Epic Games Store timed exclusives:

Magic: The Gathering Arena – War of the Spark

“Welcome the challenge with Magic: The Gathering Arena and experience the deepest and most strategic card game right on your PC! Unleash your deck on an immersive digital plane filled with fantastical combat and cunning moments.”

Oddworld: Soulstorm

“A diabolical new storm is brewing. Witness Abe’s horrifying conflict with a terrifying new machination. Inspired by Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus, Soulstorm is a dark parable armed with a fresh narrative and a massive leap in technology, cinematics and intelligent platform mechanics for stealth and explosive action.”

Atomicrops

“As the owner of the last farm in a post-apocalypse wasteland, you must grow ultra-GMO crops to feed the local town. Armed with your hoe, a water pail, and a fully automated weapon you must do what any self-respecting farmer would: Farm. Marry. Kill. Check out Atomicrops in the Indie Village.”

The Cycle

“Be on the frontier of human civilization and explore the rich planet of Fortuna III, land of beauty matched only by its imminent dangers. Test your skills and resolve, adapt or overcome. Dive into the world of The Cycle and discover everything it has to offer. Learn more about The Cycle on gamescom: Opening Night Live!”

Journey to the Savage Planet

“In this upbeat and colorful, first-person adventure game you are the newest recruit to Kindred Aerospace, which proudly touts its rating as the 4th best interstellar exploration company. Explore and battle your way through AR-Y 26. Now available for pre-purchase. Onward to adventure!”

KINE

“Guide three daring machines that aspire to be musicians in this enchanting 3D narrative puzzle game. Embark across a theatrical dreamscape with Euler, Quat, and Roo as they struggle to form a band, build bonds, and find their big break! Kine brings together music, challenges, and quirky yellow robots to create a unique gaming experience.”

All of those games are joining the pre-existing list of timed exclusives such as Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, Borderlands 3, Control, Tom Clancy’s – Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, The Outer Worlds, and Shenmue 3.

Finally, Magic: The Gathering Arena – War of the Spark and The Cycle have no release dates. Contrary to that, though, Atomicrops is coming out sometime in 2019. Oddworld: Soulstorm is set to hit Epic’s store sometime in 2020 as well as Journey to the Savage Planet. And as for Kine, it is slated to release on October 17th, 2019.
