Invader Studios and publisher Destruction Creations have released Daymare 1998 on PC. The full version of the game is currently available for download over on the Steam store for $29.99. If you’re strapped for cash but interested in the over-the-shoulder action-horror title, there’s a free demo you can try right now.
This has been one of the most highly anticipated AA-level games to come out this year, given that the title is extremely similar to Capcom’s Resident Evil series, but with its own series of twists and turns.

While it’s claimed to be a throwback to the survival-horror titles of the 1990s, it actually anchors its gameplay closer to the likes of today’s survival-horror titles where it’s a close-quarters, over-the-shoulder experience where you wade through darkened hallways and creepy corridors.
You’ll play as multiple characters, not unlike the Resident Evil series, attempting to piece together what’s going on and why. There’s also a surprisingly amount of variety in the stages and environments, seeing players go from the bloody-soaked laboratory to the toxic-filled suburban streets. There’s an ample mixture of different locations to visit throughout the journey.
And much like the classics such as Parasite Eve or Dino Crisis, there are plenty of environmental puzzles you’ll need to solve in order to proceed.
The game is made challenging through its use of limited ammo and weapons, and lots of enemies, forcing players to have to tactically address each situation and whether to engage or to take flight. You’ll also have to save your resources and be smart about how you to take down foes because you’ll need to be able to have enough firepower left over to face off against a variety of bosses scattered throughout the game.
