Exceptionull Games decided to get in on the clown act of the upcoming 2020 elections by creating a parody boxing game designed in the same vein as the SNES classic, Super Punch-Out!!. The game pokes fun at the candidates as the hysteria ramps leading into next year’s election.
Players will face off against a bow-wielding Elizabeth Warren, who taps into her non-existent Native American side in order to get the one-up on the player. The Senator from Massachusetts is running on the Democratic ticket as a candidate for the 2020 Presidential elections.
You’ll also have to throw down against the bug-eyed Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who throws punches about as wild as her glare, as players attempt to dodge the crazy flurries and lay out the green-deal goblin once and for all.
You can check out the trailer below.
There appears to be equal opportunity jabs at the Left and the Right, although it would have been far funnier facing off against all of the lunatics on the Left who have been defending criminals and justifying violence carried out at the hands of Antifa.
Even still, the gameplay actually looks like it could be solid, and it appears to be a decent political take on Nintendo’s classic Punch-Out!! formula. It’s a shame we don’t get more boxing games like that, but sometimes you take what you can get.
Hopefully the game stays neutral in its portrayal of each candidate, without veering into the Trump Derangement Syndrome that so many other creators seem to have fallen into as of late.
At the moment, the game is in early alpha access, and you can join the testing by signing up over on the official Exceptionull Games website.
There’s no release date on when the full version will be available, but I’m sure we’ll learn more once the alpha testing phase has completed.
