President Donald Trump has joined Twitch.tv, and there’s going to be a lot of salt flowing from the groups suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome.
The channel only has one video at the moment, which is a live broadcast from Trump’s rally in Minneapolis, Minnesota from October 10th, 2019.
There are also various clips from the event, with equally appropriate names.
The chat is of course lit up with all sorts of chatter and support for President Trump, who is planning on running again in 2020 for re-election.
I doubt we’ll see Trump behind a desk, in front of a CyberPowerPC, Logitech headset strapped over his head with his sleeves rolled up and StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void playing in the background while he mingles with the chat about his immigration policies.
I imagine the only sort of videos and livestreams we’ll see appear on the channel will be equivalent to the one that was recorded during his Minnesota rally.
Trump certainly isn’t the first politician to make his way onto Twitch.tv, though. Senator Bernie Sanders beat Trump to the punch by four months when he joined Twitch back in June.
Even still, President Trump is apparently getting in on the Twitch audience and looking to expand his demographic reach. I doubt his channel will stay live for long due to how ban-happy Twitch is for anything that rattles their fragile sensibilities. Heck, they’ve banned people from streaming visual novels, and at one point briefly banned Senran Kagura games because they mislabeled them as visual novels. They also temporarily banned The Young Turks’ Hasan Piker because he made a rape-joke about video-game-character turned real life Congressman, Dan Crenshaw.
There’s a giant banner on Trump’s Twitch page indicating that the next stream will take place in Dallas, Texas on October 17th, 2019. You can also text “Join” to 8802 to join the President at the next rally.
I wonder if Presidential hopeful Joe Biden will ever take time out of his busy schedule of trying to find a good Ukrainian to hook his son up with to also join Twitch?
