Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition Will Hack And Slash Its Way Onto Switch Feb 20th, 2020

Capcom announced that the special edition of Devil May Cry 3 will be re-released on the current-gen Nintendo Switch platform, presumably as a way to put eyes on the game that happily avoided it when it originally launched back in 2005 on the PS2.

While the game may have been ported over to the seventh gen systems, it faded from view for the longest time and has held a special place in the quantum of hatred that some gamers have for the third entry in the series.

In any case, Devil May Cry 3 is a prequel to the events of the original game, and you take on the role of Dante while he faces off against his nemesis Vergil.

The special edition comes with the full campaign mode along with the challenge mode known as the Bloody Palace.

Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition joins Capcom’s previous two games on the Nintendo Switch, which were made available earlier in the year during the summer.

Now all three major games are available on the Switch, so if you missed them before during the height of their popularity during the PS2 era, you can check them out now on the Switch.

I wonder if Capcom is going to take time out to make Devil May Cry 4 available on the Switch before the new generation consoles head to the market? I imagine it’s going to be difficult getting people excited for a decade old game when newer consoles are right around the corner.

In any case, you can look for Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition to drop on the Switch for $19.99 starting February 20th, 2020 next year. Unfortunately the game will not be available physically and you will only be able to get your hands on it via digital download from the Nintendo eShop.
