Disturbing The Peace Trailer Has Guy Pearce Taking On Outlaws As A Lone Gunman

A one-man-vs-all action film used to be the order of the day back in the late 1970s and all throughout the 1980s. Those kind of films dwindled down and died out during the cultural shift in films throughout the 1990s, leading us toward more buddy-up flicks and ensemble pieces that would ultimately define the aughts. For those of us who enjoy actual action films, it’s always a bright spot in our dim, shadowy battleground known as the Culture War when we see flicks like Disturbing The Peace pop up from smaller outfits such as Momentum Pictures and Voltage.

Guy Pearce stars in the film as a small time marshal with big cajones and a penchant for keeping the peace.

His little town is one day interrupted by a biker gang passing through who decides to cut the power, rob a bank and wait for an armored truck to arrive so they can make off with the cash with little to no interference. However, the marshal isn’t having any of it and the film turns into a sort of lower budget version of The Last Stand. You can check out the trailer below courtesy of Movie Coverage.

After the bikers attempt to rob the bank, things go awry for them when Pearce fights back, managing to disarm a man and go to war with the other bikers before they can make off with the town’s pittance of cash.

The film is obviously low-budget, looks like it could have been made for cable TV, and is very much of the DTV quality.

Disturbing The Peace - Guy Pearce

However, Pearce actually looks really good in this film. It’s not like he’s turning in a blithe performance among his peers (based on how he appears in the trailer anyway), and there’s some unmistakable masculine charm to the way he handles his hardware in the trailer.

Whether or not it’s worth the admission of runtime is another story, but the trailer makes it look like a decently entertaining film for men and it seems like it’s worth mentioning for those interested in such a flick.

You can look for Disturbing The Peace to drop in 2020.
