Studio miHoYo announced that a PC version of the waifu-stuffed mobile game, Honkai Impact 3rd is in the works and set to go live starting December 26th.
Gematsu picked up the news from the developer, who not only announced that the game is headed to PC, but it will be cross-platform compatible with the existing mobile version of the game.
After amassing more than 200 million downloads over the course of the years, miHoYo decided it was time to start milking the sweet precious dollars from the glorious PC Master Race.
The actual gameplay looks a lot more solid than you may have expected. The third-person hack-and-slash title allows players to choose from a variety of waifu-themed Valkyrie warriors who must do battle against an invading force bent on destroying humanity.
As quoted from the press release, miHoYo CEO Forrest Wei Liu explained that the PC version has been optimized for the big rigs, while also being made suitable for cross-platform gameplay…
“The PC version will retain the authenticity and immersion of [Honkai Impact 3rd], meanwhile adding optimizations on controls and UI to ensure the smoothest gameplay possible. Cross-platform compatibility will also be realized for the PC version, which means one account can be used on both PC and mobile, and players can enjoy this title wherever they please.”
There’s a very interesting omission from this news, though: Steam.
You may have noticed that there is no mention of Valve’s storefront mentioned anywhere in the press release or the trailer.
Instead, gamers will access the client through the Honkai Impact 3rd website, where you’ll be able to play the game both with other PC users and mobile gamers.
The system requirements are also rolled out over on the miHoYo website.
You won’t have to wait long to check out the PC version of the game when it goes live December 26th, as a waifu Christmas present for weebs.
