Swedish development studio Zordix Racing and French publisher Bigben Interactive have announced that their off-road racing game, Overpass is due to launch on February 27th, 2020 for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. They also have plans on porting the game to the Nintendo Switch at a later date.
The newest trailer that they rolled out for the game consists of showcasing the 24 vehicles they have in the game, featuring UTV buggies and ATV quad bikes. 23 of those 24 vehicles are licensed from real manufacturers, including Polaris, Yamaha, Arctic Cat, and Suzuki.
You can check out the new vehicle trailer below to get an idea of how they handle and what Overpass’ physics are like.
Unfortunately you saw the logo in the trailer correctly.
Overpass will be an Epic Games Store timed exclusive when it arrives on PC at the end of February in 2020.
This is likely a huge blow to people who were probably interested in picking up a digital copy on PC.
It’s a real shame, too, because Overpass comes across as a mix between Spintires and Pure.
Unlike other off-road racing games you’re not just trekking through the forests, or mountains, or an outdoor wilderness in a land far removed from the urban chaos of flesh suits, you’re also fighting against that same nature in courses built around trying to climb up, climb over, and ride through some of the most toilsome terrain south of Everest’s peak.
It’s a real shame because I really like Zordix, too. Aqua Moto Racing Utopia is a fantastic throwback game to the extreme sports titles from the 32 and 64-bit era where those kind of titles reigned supreme on the PSX and N64. It was like a new-generation cross between Wave Race 64 and a jet-less Jet Moto.
If you’re still interested in Overpass you can look for the game to land on PS4, Xbox One, and on the Epic Games Store for PC starting February 27th, 2020. The game will arrive at a later date for Steam and the Nintendo Switch.
