Do you want an alternative to Pokémon? If so, PC goers will gain Early Access to Humble Bundle and Crema’s Temtem. The MMO game is said to boast a story that you can explore by yourself or with friends, and many other features akin to Nintendo and GameFreak’s popular creature-catching series.
As a quick rundown, Temtem is planned to hit PC via Steam first and will later land on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. Additionally, Early Access will only happen on Steam, where console backers will gain access to play the alpha on PC.
Temtem will officially release sometime in May 2020 — or better put Q2 2020.
The digital-only game (which means there are no physical copies planned) may have missions that you can play by yourself, but it’s a “100% always-online game,” which means you’re going to need Xbox Live or PS Plus to play it on consoles.
I should also note that cross-play and cross-save are also in the works for the curious.
Now that you are up to speed on who’s making this game, where you can pick it up, and when, the creature catching title has gameplay just like Pokémon. If you want to see what’s in store come early 2020, you can check out a video that IGN has up showing Temtem in action:
And exactly like Pokémon, newcomers must pick one of three starter Temtem to venture forth to explore the six islands of the Airborne Archipelago. Discovering new species, beating all eight Dojo Leaders, and uncovering Belsoto’s conspiracy against Temtem and humans alike are just some of the things that you can partake in at launch.

Aside from stuff like the main story, co-op adventure, and battling, you can breed Temtem and hatch eggs, decorate your very own house, and customize your characters with various costumes.
If all of that sounds like something that you can get behind, you can head on over to Temtem‘s Steam page or Kickstart campaign until January 21st, 2020, rolls around.
