Shin Megami Tensei V Devs Say To Look Out For More Info In 2020

The official “Shin Megami Tensei Series” Twitter account has come to life after a two-month slumber, forewarning fans to look out for additional Shin Megami Tensei V information to come in 2020.

I know that this is nothing more than an announcement for an announcement, but it’s good to see that the official Twitter account for the forthcoming Switch game is active after long radio silence.

I bet you are thinking, “I thought Atlus reported on Shin Megami Tensei V in a new year’s card?” You’d be right, but that’s not the game’s official Twitter account. The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu featured the New Year’s card from Atlus letting fans know on December 25th:

“We’re currently hard at work developing Shin Megami Tensei V and Project Re Fantasy.”

That card also coincides with a recent Atlus PR remark regarding the game being “canceled.” The PR person staved the rumor floating around by saying this to a curious fan on December 12th:

“The game is still being worked on. Any rumors about SMTV being cancelled are made up.”

Although it’s fair to say that you’ve forgotten about Shin Megami Tensei V due to all of this off-site commentary on the devs’ end, we finally have the dormant Twitter account reminding the vigilant and watchful thanks to the following tweet:

If you can’t read the tweet retweeting Atlus’ end of year notice, the first one basically says to keep an eye out for Shin Megami Tensei V news in 2020. The second is just saying for fans to look forward to Atlus’ work come next year.

So, there you have it. The announcement for the announcement showing Jack Frost stands as a sign that more news is to come sometime throughout next year, although the same was said about this year and not much popped up.
