Whateverland, Non-Linear Point-And-Click Adventure Announced For PC

Caligari Games announced that their newest outing scheduled to release in 2020 is the point-and-click adventure game, Whateverland. The game is described as a “not so classic” entry in the long-running PC gaming genre.

Not much was revealed about the game other than that it is a traditionally hand-painted title and that the game has a non-linear story that will unfold based on the decisions you make and choices you decide for various characters throughout the story.

Players take on the role of Vincent, a master thief who ends up getting caught after attempting to steal a necklace from a mansion owned by an old witch named Beatrice. As punishment she sends Vincent to a parallel world where she keeps everyone she encountered that she didn’t like. There, Vincent teams up with an oddball who floats around named Nick, as he attempts to navigate his way through the strange world and find his way back home.

As you can see, the announcement trailer for the game is just a teaser that doesn’t really reveal anything at all.

However, we can glean that it does feature Flash-style animations, which has become the golden standard for most hand-animated titles made during this generation of gaming (or rather, the last several generations of gaming).

It’s hard to get a grasp on anything else about the title since not much else is revealed, but it will feature the ability to steal stuff, define the ending based on your choices, a few mini-games, and an original soundtrack by a handful and one thumb of sterling musicians.

If you’ve been itching to experience a new point-and-click title, which have admittedly been in short supply in recent times, you can keep track of Whateverland by visiting the Steam store page, or look for the title to release at some point in 2020.
