Ahead of the Steam debut comes the release of Metro Exodus: Sam’s Story. Deep Silver and 4A Games’ latest expansion for Metro: Exodus is now available to pick up across PC via the Epic Games Store, PS4, Xbox One, and the dying streaming service that is Stadia.
The publisher and devs behind Metro: Exodus will bring not only the game but all of its expansions, including Sam’s Story, to Steam on February 15th, 2020. Moreover, as of today, folks can help former U.S. Marine and now turned Spartan Ranger on his quest home.
If the name of the DLC hasn’t been an obvious clue, players will assume the role of Sam and must traverse Vladivostok’s harbors, industrial buildings, and other residential districts that play host to innumerable dangers that will violently test the man longing for home.
All of this takes place in “a huge sandbox” as described and depicted below:
“The second major expansion for Metro Exodus, Sam’s Story, follows former US Marine turned Spartan Ranger Sam on his quest to return home. After the events of Metro Exodus, Sam’s long-held dream of returning to his homeland doesn’t seem so far-fetched anymore.
Traverse the remains of Vladivostok’s tsunami ravaged harbours, ruined industrial buildings and crumbling residential districts in a huge, ‘sandbox survival’ level. To complete his journey, Sam will discover that he needs every tactic he has learned so far to survive, as his surroundings prove to be far trickier than expected. The journey ends here.”
In case you may have skipped out on the above DLC launch trailer, essentially Sam has mustered up the strength after the events of Metro: Exodus to try and make it back to the U.S., but he must face several dangers that will test his survival skills when doing so — putting his new assault rifle and trusty pistol to use.
As mentioned above, the latest DLC for Metro: Exodus is out now across PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia.
