Omnibion War, Star Fox-Esque Mech Shooter Launches On Steam

Chilean developer Crazy Bullet and 1C Entertainment recently released a new 3D mech-shooter called Omnibion War on Steam. It’s not the most original game around, but once you see it in action you’ll instantly recall that it looks a lot like an alternative version of Star Fox in some ways.

The game centers around a time where peace is disrupted following a great way. Hellhounds have spread chaos and death throughout the galaxy and it’s up to the Coalition of United Colonies to prevent enemies from gaining control of the Omnibion, which is an ancient and powerful device created by the Omnigans.

Players will blast through levels as an ace pilot named Jaeden who takes control of the A.A.V.G. gunship, which has the ability to maneuver quickly through space as a ship and also battle on land as a mech.

You can check out the trailer below to get an idea of what the gameplay is like.

The game actually looks pretty impressive to be made by just two people out of Chile.

You can tell that they have a deep passion for the classic rail-shooters of old, such as Panzeer Dragon and Aces of the Galaxy.

You can also see that they focused more on gameplay pace and mechanical consistency rather than wasting time trying to convince you that there’s some deep social message to uncover throughout the story. It’s about putting the game first and ensuring that gamers are having fun. It’s a lost concept on most AAA publishers these days.

The game hasn’t received much traction from the Steam community since it just released and there aren’t many reviews made yet, but I’m sure as word of mouth spreads and if the game lives up to being as fun as they attempt to make it look in the trailer, then it might end up becoming a sleeper hit.

If you’re interested in giving the game a go, you can do so right now by visiting the Steam store page.
